Isaac Homebrew at New West Fest 2017

Isaac goes out during New West Fest and meets a robot and a kind old lady. A video and gallery are posted up. Now, last time I wrote that I met another fursuiter out when we were out there.  This time Isaac was all alone, which was nice.  I like to be the only suiter around, but hey, what can you do.  Anyways, hope you enjoyed Isaac Homebrew’s latest outing, I’m looking forward to more!

Last Week’s Old Town Fursuiting

Here’s some pics from my outing last week. I believe in this outing I had three people with me: Maus, Captain, and Captain’s brother. We only got pics of me really, but that’s kind of the point. So, I went around Old Town, my usual haunt, and took pictures with people.

Partial Suit Outing

This is a slideshow of my first partial outing, the day before I returned to my childhood home to create the body suit with help from my Mom. Thanks Mom! There are more slides than the dots show, just use the arrows.

Crawling Zombies and Notebooks

So problem with the suit: Moisture collects on the glasses, fogging them up and making them extremely refractive. By the end of my tour of Zombie Crawl I could hardly see anything at all. I had a really hard time even seeing kids taking and wanting to take a picture. I couldn’t move because I was afraid I’d trample over somebody. Night time is pretty hard to see through those glasses, but add fog and moisture on top of that… impossible.

Holy Crap It’s Been A Long Time

I got out of the habit of writing in my blog because I had acute bronchitis. But I’m hoping to come back and share my experiences, thoughts, and creations with you. I’ve been doing a lot, artwork, fursuits, classes, and programming. Let’s get caught up!

Fun With the Other Nephews

So this week I took a few days and visited my childhood home again, but this time to see my other nephews. I have three brothers, one blood, one half, and one adopted. This was my full blood brother’s family.

Isaac Homebrew Head Test

I made a video testing the moving jaw in Isaac Homebrew’s head. So far it looks like things are perfect! There’s going to be a little more shaping in the back and sides, but it’s pretty close to done.

Shots of Isaac

Maus actually drew a couple views of Isaac before I started constructing him. I didn’t quite get them up though because they were drawn on traditional media and not imported into the computer. However, I managed to take some photos of them (as opposed to scanning them in) so I thought I’d post them here.

Heads, Noses, and Fur

So, I’m working on Isaac Homebrew.  I’ve never actually made my own fursuit head all by myself.  I’ve always had help cutting and shaping the foam.  Well, my help is not available in a economical fashion so I’ve had to stretch out and do the face molding myself.  It’s pretty hard, but with some ingenuity and practice an electric knife can do anything!

Isaac Homebrew

I’m making a new fursuit. I hope to have it finished as soon as possible. It’s name is Isaac Homebrew. Isaac is an engineer extraordinare! You can tell from his glasses. Here’s a digital sketch of him from the front.

Super Power NecoMimi Ears!

When I first built my short lived fursuit Larry the Lab Rat, I wanted to have moving ears.  So, I found this thing on the internet called NecoMimi ears.  They’re ears that move according to your brainwaves. They were incredible.  They operated by using a sensor on your temple and one hooked to your ear.  The ears would move depending on your mood.  Well, it kind of worked, either that or my brain is really jittery. However, it had some problems.  I had to embed the thing into my rat head.  Even though the head was close to my head it was difficult to get the device on.  For one, it was hard to access the batteries, for another we had to make sure the ears were clear.  However, I needed the batteries to be external to the head.  I couldn’t change the batteries while it was in my head, and it would be easier if I could connect batteries externally. My half-brother Ian suggested I extend the battery life of the device if I was going to put the batteries on the outside.  I discovered that if I add more batteries to the circuit, anywhere on the circuit, that would extend the life of the necomimi.
